A large component of our program is providing early exposure for students through career information sessions, local field trips, and original content creation. Closing the gap between what students imagine nursing to be and receiving first-hand knowledge is a key priority of CompassRN.

Connecting students to the field of nursing provides a direct link to the faces of healthcare, the different roles and responsibilities, opportunities, and allows students to observe industry collaboration.

The CompassRN Mentorship Program is a dynamic initiative aimed at connecting high school students with experienced nurse mentors, fostering a supportive relationship that extends from the formative years of their education through their journey to becoming registered nurses. This program empowers mentees to excel academically, develop professionally, and overcome obstacles on their path to success. Through long-term mentorship relationships, CompassRN inspires the next generation of diverse and compassionate nursing professionals, ensuring a brighter future for healthcare. Some of our collaborations include Andy & Barbara Gessner College of Nursing at University of Houston, Louise Herrington School of Nursing at Baylor University, College of the Mainland, San Jacinto College, Houston Methodist West Hospital, TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital, and Harris Health System. Are you in the Houston area and interested in becoming a nurse mentor, volunteer, or collaborator?
